2016년 ‘움트다, 봄’ 을 시작으로 소피스 갤러리에서는 유망하고 실력 있는 작가들을 발굴하여 작품세계를 응원하고자 젊은 작가 그룹전을 연례적으로 기획전시하고 있다. 그 일환으로 오는 1월 4일 (수)부터 2월 4일 (토)까지 김선혁, 김찬송, 박정선, 박진희, 유아영, 장유희, 장인희, 조광훈, 지근욱, 홍승희 작가 10인으로 이루어진 <2017 소피스 갤러리 기획전: BETWEEN>이 진행될 예정이다. 전시 ‘Between’은 개인적 서사를 사색하고 탐구하며 이를 각자만의 예술 영역으로 다채롭게 구축해나가는 과정 사이에 서 있는 작가들의 작품을 주목하고 읽어내고자 기획한 전시이다.

다양한 장르의 실험적인 장치를 통해 확고한 자신만의 스타일을 표현해내는 작가들의 작품이 한자리에 어우러질 본 전시는 무심히 지나쳤던 대상이 작가 특유의 조형언어를 거쳐 동시대 미술에서 어떤 식으로 표현되고 수용되는지 함께 사유해 볼 수 있는 시간이 될 것이다.

Starting from the exhibition ‘The Spring Sprouts’ in 2016, Sophis Gallery is planning annual group exhibitions for young artists to discover promising and competent artists and to support their world of art. As a part of it, <2017 Sophis Gallery Special Exhibition: BETWEEN> composed of ten artists, Kim Sun Hyuk, Kim Chan Song, Park Jung Sun, Park Jin Hee, You Ah Young, Chang Yoo Hee, Jang In Hee, Cho Kwang Hun, Ji Keun Wook and Hong Seung Hee. It will be held from January 4^th(Wed.) to February 4^th(Sat.). The exhibition ‘Between’ aims to pay attention to and read works of artists standing in the process of thinking/exploring personal descriptions and then diversely building up their own artistic field.

This exhibition filled with works by artists with their own unique styles through experimental equipment in diverse genres, will be an opportunity to think about how indifferent objects are expressed and accepted in contemporary art with artists’ unique formative language.
