회전(Spin)운동은 곧 생명운동이다.

우리의 우주와 은하계 그리고 태양계 역시 끊임없이 회전하면서,

역동적으로 생명운동을 하고 있다.

현상의 세계(氣)를 존립시켜주는, 보이지 않는 세계(理)에 대한

끝없는 탐구이자, 탐험을 난 계속하고자 한다.

곧, 우리의 태극사상과 동양의 우주관, 그리고 동양사상과 철할을,

우리의 감성으로 담아내고자 하는 것이다.

붓 대신 바람같이 그려내고자 한다.

우주는 불(火)로 시작되어 물~바람~흙으로 귀결되므로,

불의 철학으로 끊임없이 변화와 진화를 거듭하는

우주의 생각을 시각화하고자 한다.

난 오늘도 새벽을 기다리며 꿈꾸길 소망한다.

A Spinning Motion Leads to Life

The universe, galaxy, and the solar system render a life motion in a dynamic way by repeating a ceaseless rotary motion.

I will continue to make endless researches or exploration toward the force makes phenomena exist and the reason which is not visible. In other words, I desire our emotion to cuddle our idea of the Great Absolute(Taegeuk or Taichi), the oriental views on the universe, and the oriental thoughts and philosophy.

I wish to draw my works with the wind, not with a brush. The universe began with fire, ending up with water, wind, and earth. Thus I would visualize, with a philosophy of flames, the thoughts of the universe that reiterate change and evolution without cease.

I desire to dream today again, waiting for dawn.

우주의 생각을 현실로 만든 화가

손봉근(고진당화방)

 90년초부터 손준호 화가의 작품세계를 가까이 지켜보았다. 화가 손준호의 작품은 원초적 우주 생명 에너지를 발산한다. 그동안 수년에 걸쳐 새로운 도전을 준비해온 그의 작품 속에서 태극사상의 기운이 태동하는 강력한 생명의 기운을 발산한다. 그의 작품 전시회 개최를 진심으로 축하한다.

그의 작품 전개는 무극에서 태극 음양이 분화하여 사상으로 발전하고, 사상은 팔괘로 분화한다. 또한, 그의 작품은 우주의 사계와 더불어, 선하고 아름다운 조화, 바른 우주의 진리인 긍정의 끌어당기는 시크릿 마음을 흑백 회오리 모노톤을 배경으로 한다. 흙의 질박함과 차가운 금속이 물과 함께 불 에너지에 의해 공기 중에서 산화 환원의 합성 변화 과정을 거치다. 그러면서, 끝없는 대우주의 탄생과정과 무한한 소우주인 우리 인간의식의 변화과정을 독창적인 회화성과 3차원의 조형성으로 재해석한다. 한편, 그의 혼은 무한 예술 세계의 근원을 보여주며, 5차원인 우주 의식세 계의 각성을 요구하고 있다.

그의 작품에는 작게는 정겨운 시골 고향 텃밭의 어머니 얼굴을 연상하게 하는 세월과 세파에 주름진 익은 호박이 중앙에 배치되거나, 질박하고 깨어진 옹기 조각들이 분산 정렬되고, 깨어진 틈새에 다양하고 반복적인 색과 금속이 불을 통해 합성된다. 이런 작업을 통해, 광활한 우주의 창생 소멸 과정에서 시간은 결국, 우리 인간의 의식에 불과하다는 메시지를 전달한다. 또한, 화가는 의식의 확장을 통한 우리 존재의 의미를 극명하게 대비시킴으로써, 생명의 강렬한 기운과 억겁 변화의 우주적 관념을 철학적, 미적 상징으로 승화시켜 새로운 지평을 열어가고 있다.

그의 작품 앞에 서면, 변화무쌍한 대우주와 소우주의 강한 생명력과 뜨거운 예술혼, 그리고 건강한 생명의 에너지를 느낄 수 있다. 그동안 작가가 예술 혼불을 밝게 태우면서, 차가운 지하 시멘트 바닥에 새우쪽잠을 자면서, 각고의 고뇌와 열정의 구상이 응축되어 표출한 이번 작품 전시회를 통해, 손준호 작가는 우주의 생각을 현실로 만드는 글로벌 작가로 자리매김 하리라 확신한다.

A Universal Idea Realized Into Reality

​I have observed the art world of Mr. Junho Sohn on close terms since early 1990’s. His works give off the energy of basic universal life. Taking on new challenges over years, he has prepared a series of new works which emit a awfully strong force of life which creates the anima of Taegeuk(the Great Absolute) ideas.

In his works, ideas develop as boundlessness erupts into the yin and yang of the Great Absolute and the very ideas erupt into Palgoae(Eight Signs of Divination). On top of that, his works are backed by a whirly black and white mono-tone along with the universal four seasons, righteous and beautiful harmony, and the truth of upright universe -- positive attracting secret minds. His art shows that the simplicity of earth and chilling metal undergo the synthesis process of oxidation and reduction in the air by virtue of the energy of both water and fire. As a result, his pieces reinterpret the creation process of the endless macrocosm and the changing process of consciousness of humans, an infinite microcosm, by way of his creative pictorial traits and 3-dimensional formative qualities. On the other hand, his spirit shows the fundamental of limitless art world, demanding the awakening of universal consciousness which is on the fifth dimension.

In the middle of his works is placed a well ripe pumpkin wrinkled with time and the storms of life which reminds us of the heartwarming face of a mother working in the country garden in hometown at least. Sometimes plain fragments of broken jars are arrayed in a scattering form with the clefts synthesized with diverse and repetitive colors and metal by fire. This operation delivers a message that time is merely the consciousness of humans after all in the process of the creation and extinction of the universe. In the meantime, he is opening a new horizon by not only contrasting the meaning of human existence through the expansion of consciousness but also sublimating the intense force of life and the cosmo concepts of endless changes into an aesthetic symbols.

I can feel the energetic life force of macrocosm and microcosm with immeasurable changes, his blazing artistic spirit, and the sound energy of life when I stand before his works. I reckon that he has curled himself not in bed but on the cold cement floor in the basement while burning his artistic and spiritual torch. His agony and passion are well condensed and expressed in this exhibition. So I am fully convinced that he will make himself a global artist who makes the universal ideas real.

이토록 눈부시고 아름다운 세상을 운행케 하는

그 세계는 어떤 세계일까?

사계절의 오묘함과 꽃이 피고

나무가 자라고 바람이 구름을 밀고 가는…

삼라만상의 질서와 오묘하고 저 깊은 세계는 어떤 세계일까

밤하늘의 무수한 별들의 운행과 인간과 자연계의 오묘한 운행은

어떤 세계가 움직이고

이 거대한 자연을 존립케 하는 그 세계는 어떤 세계일까?

21세기인 지금까지 과학자가 밝혀놓은

우주의 비밀이 5~10% 정도라는데…

난 이 현상의 세계에서 보이지 않는 세계로 여행하며

그 세계를 시각화하는 작업을 통해 새로운 시도를 개척하려 한다.

우리의 우주는 4원소 즉 불, 물, 바람, 흙으로 이루어져 있다.

불로 시작되어 물, 바람 흙으로 귀결된다.

몸통이 깨지고 고통이 있어야 태양을 볼 수 있듯이…

씨앗의 몸통을 깨는 그 에너지--생명력은 어떤 세계일까?
