커피에 관심을 두는 사람들에게 익숙한 단어인 ‘Parchment(파치먼트)’*는 생두를 감싸고 있는 껍질을 뜻한다. 이 파치먼트에 감싸여진 생두 만이 새로 싹을 틔워낼 수 있다. 즉, 핵심을 감싸고(보호하고), 그 핵이 온전히 ‘성장(Germination; 발아)’ 할 수 있도록 기능하는 것이다.

작가들은 핵을 각자의 문법대로 심(心)에 품어, 종국에 표현이 핵심이 되도록 한다. 그리고 이 과정에서 토양과 물(매체)을 적절히 조절하고 배합(실험)하여, 핵심이 발아하고 다음의 생(Next Generation)으로 이어지도록 한다. 이는 예술이 갖는 가장 중요한 기능이자, 역사 이전부터 존재한 목적을 고스란히 계승하고 있음을 나타내는 것이다.

양피지(Parchment)* 위에 적어내는 글자가 다음으로 이어져 역사를 만들었듯이, 작가들은 각자의 핵심을 보드랍게 감싸고, 때로는 강하게 움켜쥐기도 하면서, 본인들이 품어낸 핵심이 다음(Next)으로 이어질 수 있도록 작업하고 있다. 그리고 그 각자의 방식과 방법을 시각적 표현의 수단을 통해 증명해내고 있다.

Each of the four artists' works exhibit a characteristic texture, and the artist's originality in handling the expression of the texture and the medium draws not only the viewer's gaze but also the scope of perception to a deeper level. This power is probably because the ‘Core’ is firmly established in their works or in the minds of the artists who perform them.

‘Parchment’*, a word familiar to those interested in coffee, is It refers to the shell that surrounds the green beans. Only green beans wrapped in this parchment can sprout new seeds. In other words, it encloses (protects) the core and functions so that the nucleus can fully 'Germination'.

Artists keep the nucleus in their hearts according to their own grammar, so that expression becomes the core in the end. And in this process, the soil and water (medium) are appropriately adjusted and mixed (experimented), Let the core germinate and lead to the next generation. This is the most important function of art and indicates that the purpose that existed before history is intact.

Just as the letters written on parchment* continued to make history, the writers gently wrap their cores and sometimes hold them tightly, working so that the cores they have conceived can lead to the next. there is. And they are proving their own methods and methods through the means of visual expression.
